Gener8tor Grad Review Trackers Gets $2M From Wisconsin Investors

Review Trackers, which built software to help businesses monitor and analyze what customers say about them online, previously raised $160,000 in seed money from angel investors, friends, and company founders, said CEO and founder Chris Campbell.

Milwaukee-based CSA Partners led the Series A round, with participation by American Family Ventures, the VC arm of Madison-based American Family Insurance; Milwaukee-area angel investor Jeff Rusinow; Madison-based SymphonyAlpha Ventures; and additional investors from Chicago and other areas, Campbell said. The company closed the round two months after completing Gener8tor’s three-month accelerator program in Madison, WI.

Chicago-based Review Trackers, a startup whose software helps mid-sized companies track online customer reviews, has raised $2 million from Wisconsin investors.

The lead backer is Milwaukee-based venture fund CSA Partners. Other investors include the venture arm of Madison-based American Family Insurance, SymphonyAlpha Ventures and Milwaukee-area angel investor Jeff Rusinow, a former Kohl’s executive.

Yet another graduate from the latest Gener8tor program, Review Trackers, has announced a multimillion-dollar investment round, this time led by Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele’s investment group, CSA Partners LLC.

Chicago-based Review Trackers said Tuesday it’s landed a $2 million investment round, bolstering its business offering a cloud-based platform to help small businesses manage online ratings and reviews (think Yelp, FourSquare, TripAdvisor and the like).

The technology to monitor and track online reviews is affordable and easily accessible. Online review monitoring tools such as ReviewTrackers.com are easy to use. I think the $29/month for Review Trackers is a bargain, but if not; you can use Google Alerts to monitor the web for mentions of their business name, products and/or key people – for free. One of my favorite tools is a site called: KnowEm which lets you search for your name or your brand across just about every social network on the planet.
